Ciao! I am so happy to find a Fontanini forum again - I belonged to the original one hosted by Roman, Inc. years ago - it was  sad to see it shut down! My husband and I have been collectors since 1977 - we started with a small set up that first year and it immediately became a tradition to purchaser new additions each year. MY husband is from Italy (still a citizen there) so for years we were able to visit the Fontanini factory and we bought many of the original older items that were never sold in the US. I used to sell those on eBay or privately to friends when they would make a request for us to bring something back on our trips! Now our four sons are all adults and each has a favorite size they have collected from the 2.5 inch o the 12 inch. Our main display is a combination of the 5 inch with some 4 inch for perspective. We build an 8 foot by 12 foot display each year and have a combination of purchased and self-made buildings. Looking forward to sharing and learning from all of you!

WELCOME!!! I too, was a member of the Fontanini Collectors' site until it was shut down! Loved it! My husband has a forum for his car club and suggested we needed one for Fontanini. He was very surprised at the lack of ability on Facebook to search and find things. He built this forum for us (LOVE HIM!). While I do not want to replace Facebook, I would love to see this site become as vibrant, active and caring as the old Fontanini Club forum.

Oh yeah, I a SO jealous that you have been to the Fontanini Factory! I dream of going there - my husband only dreams of seeing Italy! LOL

We were fortunaqte enough to visit the factory on several occasions- they are all such welcoming friendly folks!
This forum isfantastic -i think I feellike it is "coming home"like at the old forum!
